Cutest, Sweetest Doggie Looking for a Really Good Home

Hi, my name is Ruby. I was born on May 8, 2008 which makes me 1yr 5mo. My mom, Lucy, is a black lab and I’m pretty sure my dad is a Rottweiler. I weigh about 67 pounds and am pretty skinny with long legs. I was born on a farm on Whidbey Island along with 11 other black rugrats that look a lot like me. Check out the blog to meet me, my real mom, and my brothers and sisters when I was just a lil tyke.

I currently live in Portland in the Sellwood neighborhood with my adopted mom, Deb, and my brother Fischer (another black lab). Life is really good here although my mom is going through some pretty significant life changes and just took a job in Hood River. She wants to keep me but thinks that I would have a better life with another family that can give me love more often.

I'm about the sweetest doggie you’ll ever meet. I LOVE kids and pretty much anybody who will pay me any attention. I like to sit on your feet while you give me scratches. I’m a real people person. Oh, and I really like other dogs too. I’m pretty much a social creature in all respects. I’m going to really miss hanging out with my brother Fischer but if my new family had kids to play with or other doggies to hang with that would be really cool. I think I’d also be really happy with a retired person that would be able to spend oodles of time with me. I LOVE going to the dog park and getting outside. Ideally, the family who adopts me would take me out to play at every opportunity. I can’t get enough of the dog park, playing in the water (although I don’t swim – I just wait for Fischer to come back close to shore where I can still touch my toes on the bottom and then jump on him), and hiking in the woods.

As for my manners, I’m well trained but sometimes need reminders about what I’m supposed to be doing because I just get so excited. My mom has me trained to hang out on my pillow when she doesn’t want me at the dinner table or bothering guests or whatever other silly reason she has for not wanting me in other people’s faces. I tend to follow my mom around everywhere she goes. I just want to be with her all the time. Wish I could be with her all the time. She rocks.

One last thing. I’m current on all my shots and I’ve been neutered. My mom has whole folder on my vet history. I’m really healthy and even have not so bad breath (yet anyways).

So, if you think you might want to be my new adopted parent(s), you should call my mom, Deb Stewart, at 503.735.5994 or send her an e-mail at deb.j.stewart@gmail.com. I’m priceless so it would be silly to try to put a price on me. I’m free to the very right family that is going to ensure that I continue a wonderful life.

Oh, and just so you know how adorable I am, you need to check out these pictures of me. Fischer is in a couple of them too but, let’s get real, I’m WAY cuter than him. Hope you might like me!!! Chances are about 100% that I will like you.
